We welcome you and your family to Cavendish Close Infant and Nursery School, and look forward to a long and happy relationship between your family and the school
We are all very proud of our school for a number of reasons. We have had a number of successful Ofsted inspections, the latest in February 2017, when the inspectors re-affirmed that ours is a ‘Good’ school. All the staff work very hard to ensure that the children in our school make good or better progress from their starting points. They ensure that children are well cared for and happy in school, and that parents and other family members are welcomed and encouraged to come into school and take part in the children’s learning whenever possible.
Over the years we have had a number of awards which have recognised the hard work we do in school. We have the Active Mark, Healthy Schools Award, Basic Skills Quality Mark. We are a Sun Safe School, and most recently we were recognised as one of a very small number of schools across the country which are an RTime Outstanding school.
This is a very exciting time for everyone in Cavendish Close Infant and Nursery School as we are preparing to move into a brand new purpose built school in March/April 2019. The planning for the building is nearly complete, and we expect work on site to begin in early 2018. The new school will be on the same site, positioned behind the existing buildings. It will be modern, highly energy efficient and have many facilities which will make it a very nice space in which to work and learn.
Our curriculum in school is broad and varied and we provide a wide range of enrichment opportunities for the children both in formal learning and in extra-curricular activities. We encourage the children to take part in the sports and arts opportunities which we provide as part of the wider learning experiences in school.
We have tried to provide as much information as we can in our brochure, but a visit to our school will give you a much better picture of what we can provide for you and your child.
Please contact us to arrange a visit and a member of staff will be happy to show you around and answer any questions you may have.
We are dedicated to establishing a happy and supportive relationship with all our families and the wider community around the school.
Thank you for your interest in our school.
Mrs Jane Brandon
