We believe that Sex Education needs to be carefully matched to the maturity and development of children. Parents are in the best possible position to help their children cope with the physical, emotional and moral aspects of growing up. Although Sex Education is not covered as a specific topic with the children in our school, certain aspects have to be covered as part of the National Curriculum for Science.
Infant Children have to be taught that humans can produce babies and that these babies grow into children and then into adults. When questions arise from the children, teachers will try to deal factually, honestly and sensitively with those questions.
Parents have the right to withdraw their children from all or part of the sex education provided, except for those parts which are included in the Science National Curriculum. If you have any concerns or questions please contact the Head teacher.
