Basic information about pupils is held on computer to assist with the efficient organisation of the school and the individual’s educational needs. Security measures are taken to ensure that the information is kept confidential and is only available to authorised staff. It may be used for statistical purposes but this will not enable any individual to be identified.
The school and the City Council have registered with the Data Protection Registrar details of persons to whom they may wish to disclose information. By law, under the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1982, information may only be disclosed to other persons in accordance with this registration.
Your school is registered to disclose personal information to:

  • Family, Relatives, Guardians, Trustees
  • Past, Current or Prospective Employers
  • Legal Representatives
  • Doctors, Dentists, other Health Advisers
  • Department of Education and Science
  • Department of Social Security
  • Local Authority Education and Social Service

This policy is, of course, subject to any law, which imposes a duty of disclosure on the Governors or Derby City Council. Pupils may also use computers in the classroom as part of their education, but they do not have access to the personal information records.
